The Role

We’re looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead a small and dedicated engineering team in downtown Portland supporting SurveyMonkey’s customer-facing teams. Our team works on a range of frontend and backend projects for both internal and external customers. Our charter includes developing outstanding Help Centers to scale our customer support, admin tools to drive internal efficiency, and a focus on product abuse to create a safer customer experience, as well as projects to help address top customer issues.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years experience leading an engineering team.
  • 5+ years of software development experience.
  • Exceptional coding abilities and experience with architectural patterns of large, high-scale Web applications.
  • Deep knowledge and rich experience in delivering large scale web application with multiple dependencies across teams.
  • Deep knowledge in software design standard methodologies.
  • Strong coaching and mentorship skills.

Preferences:

  • Experience with Python web frameworks, like Pylons/Pyramid or Django; or for other languages, like Ruby on Rails.
  • Experience with modern front end frameworks like AngularJS or React.
  • Experience with .NET development.
  • Able to write efficient SQL queries and design schemas for relational databases.
