On 12 May Free Press Unlimited will host a session to discuss strategies to defend media pluralism in European countries where the Rule of Law is under attack.

Free Press Unlimited recently conducted a study that examined the strategies through which independent media outlets in Europe resist and push back against shrinking civic space. The session aims to explore the practical strategies independent media organisations can apply to remain viable in the context of shrinking civic space on the one hand and the manner in which policy makers can support and facilitate media pluralism on the other hand.

The confirmed speakers are:
- Renate Nikolay, Head of Cabinet of EU Commissioner Vera Jourova
- Tamás Bodoky, director of Atlatszo
- Anuška Delić, Founder and Director of Ostro
- Viola von Cramon, Member of EU Parliament, Greens/EFA
- David Casa, Member of Parliament EU, EPP
- Tim Schoot Uiterkamp, Senior Knowledge Officer at Free Press Unlimited
- Ramona Strugariu, Member of Parliament EU and Co-chair of the Media Working Group, Renew (TBC)
- Moderator: Maryia Sadouskaya-Komlach, Eurasia Team Lead at Free Press Unlimited
