Service Logistics Survey

Over the last years, Service Logistics has been a thriving arena for innovation. In various consortia – such as high-tech, maritime, defense, wind-energy – appealing results were realised. Most of these projects have been concluded in the last 2 years. So, this a natural moment to consider new Service Logistics innovation initiatives.

 

Currently, the Topsector Logistics and the NWO (Dutch Research Council) are providing strategic directions and funding for innovations, driven by high level megatrends, think of sustainability, energy transition, safety, and robustness of supply chains.

 

As SLF we aim to organize topics around the theme ‘Green & Resilient Service Supply Chains’, also linking to some of the themes mentioned above. In preparing for the future, and as follow-up on our SLF Service Leadership Summit (“Technology energizes Service Chains”) we like to gather your views with this questionnaire. Here, we focus on innovation opportunities with promising technologies such as AI, Digital Twins, Additive Manufacturing, and more.

Ultimately, these innovations should address your challenges. That’s why we consult you via this questionnaire. We would like to gain insight into your challenges and innovation preferences. Also, we are looking for answers to the “how” question. How would you like to innovate? For instance, are you willing to cooperate with other companies and knowledge institutes?

 

As such, we would like you to adopt a company-wide perspective, approaching questions and statements whilst considering how they affect or impact the entire service organisation, not (merely) your department/branch.

 

The foreseen process is as follows. First, we will gain insight into the wishes. Then we consolidate and create inspiring follow-up events. Depending on the outcomes, that can be a plenary event or a happening centered around one innovation topic.
